The Time Community Theater is a volunteer-based, non-profit theater established to provide an affordable venue for the arts that contributes to the revitalization of downtown Oshkosh.

The building that houses the Time Community Theater was built in 1908. While it was originally built as a vaudeville theater, the first motion picture screened here in 1911, and was one of at least five in downtown Oshkosh. It changed hands several times and sat vacant for a short time after Marcus Cinema moved out in the 1980s. In the 1990s it was used by the Rebel Alliance Theater Group  (now located in Omro) for theatrical productions, and in 2007, a group interested in developing the Time Theater as a place for community activity and creating a platform for local talent created the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is known today as the Time Community Theater.

The Time Theater is 100% volunteer-run. The Board is unpaid and all events are staffed by unpaid volunteers. Since its inception, involvement in the Time Community Theater has been spearheaded by those who feel strongly about creating a space to grow community. We value the contributions of our volunteers more than anything – without volunteers, we would not be able to keep our doors open.

The Time Community Theater is a cash-only establishment. Carry-ins of any kind are not allowed. We do sell Wisconsin microbrews, however, ID is required. While there is street parking available, there is a big ole' parking lot directly behind the theater.
